Our poor little Daxton! Last night Dax was playing the "get you" game with Ben, and he jumped onto Aunt T's makeshift bed that was in our living room. Unfortunately, he missed the pillows and slammed his mouth right into the windowsill. The end result was a gut-wrenching scream, a lot of blood, and a 1 1/2 hour trip to the emergency room. Four stiches later, this is what we have.........I'm beginning to wonder if this kid is going to be "accident prone" his whole life. I have a hunch that it won't be the last of our trips to the emergency room. He's happy enough this morning, especially since Ben bought him a new Buzz Lightyear toy. We have to take him into the dentist in a couple of days to make sure that he didn't damage some tissue around one of his front teeth. The tooth got pushed out of place and it looks a little funny, but the doc said we wouldn't have to pull it out or anything. Phew......I know I'm vain......the thing I was most worried about was the fact that I've been procrastinating taking the kid's portraits, and I was going to be really ticked if I had to take them with Dax missing a front tooth. Isn't that awful of me? Fortunately, he should heal up just fine, and only have a slightly displaced front tooth to show for it. He's on an all liquid diet for the next seven days, and that could be a trick. And, oh yeah.......the worst part......NO BINKY! I haven't told him that yet. Maybe we'll celebrate memorial day by going outside and burrying all the binkys. Well, Tiffany asked me last night at dinner what I thought the hardest thing about parenting was...........I think it's watching your kids suffer.

OUCH!!! That makes me hurt for him!! Kids always seems to get the worse wounds!
I am sooo sad today. My trip was just not long enough and I am so sad for poor Dax. I just want to give him a big kiss. Thanks again for letting me come, see you in a couple weeks.
Poor Dax! Give him a hug for me! I agree that it's hard to see your kids suffer. We hope you guys are doing good other than the injury!
oh no! I feel so bad for him. Get better soon Dax!!
Oh no! Poor kid! I hope the recovery goes o.k. and he heals quick! I think I have an accident prone little guy too so any pointers you have to help with damage control would be helpful! :0)
I am so sorry. It looks so painful. I thought I would tell you that Josh already knocked his front tooth out. I was really upset for my own vain reasons, but there was nothing I could do. I guess it shows his personality.
That makes me want to cry for him. I can't even imagine something like that happening to Jase. How is he doing on his liquid diet? Poor little guy I hope his luck changes for him. For everything that hes been through her really is such a good kid. We miss him and you guy. Hope your doing good.
Hey - We are coming!! Yippee!
Oh . . . sweet little thing. That breaks my heart. Hope Dax is feeling better now.
Poor guy! That is horrible. Hope he is feeling better now:)
Okay, even with a fat lip he is still SO cute. Seriously.
So sad. I dread the day anything happens to Annie. I think Mike will have to step in and take care of her when she's hurt. I don't think I can take it.
Ouch! Poor guy! I agree with Jamie. He is still SO cute with a fat lip!
Ouch! Poor guy! I always feel like an ogre when I have to stitch little kids. They don't understand so they just look at you like you are the meanest person in the world. It took me forever to figure out where I wrote down your blog address, but it was fun to look through your blog and see what you guys are up to. Next time your in town, given me a call! I miss you, Jenny.
Oh my gosh!! So this is the accident you were referring to, and that I'm just reading about. I haven't blogged forever. I'm glad to see his lip looks normal, to me anyway, and I didn't know anything had happened thanks to reading the blogs in order as they appear. Poor guy.
