Knoxville for Labor Day

We went to visit Jen's sister and her family, the Butlers, in Knoxville.  Mom flew down with Alice and Eli.  Dad drove with Dax and Jacy and stopped at Mammoth Cave National Park in Kentucky on the way.

Summer Fun

Now that it is cooling off, it's good to remember some of the good times we had over the summer.  Or maybe I'm just looking for an excuse to explain why these pictures are so late getting onto the blog.

Celebrating the lack of mosquitoes this year by sleeping out in the very exposed fort.

California

I took Dax and Jacy to California for a few days of playing on the beach, the San Diego Zoo, and just hanging out with the Clarks.  They had a blast, and I didn't hate it either.  And yes, Jacy did perform a tactile inspection to determine the gender of the polar bear, don't worry, she's a doctor.

Kalahari Water Park

We took a little three day two night vacation to The Kalahari Water Park in Sandusky, OH. It's the largest indoor water park in the US. It was a lot of fun. My week of vacation was during the week of our anniversary, so we upgraded to the two room suite. Dax and Jacy got the beds, Eli was stuck on the floor, and we had our own room. We bought a package that included the room, water park, meals, and video game tokens. I'd say it might be the perfect family vacation with young kids.

It's A Girl

Due the beggining of July, which means the middle of June, to Jen.

Detroit Auto Show

We took the kids downtown to the Detroit Auto Show. We got to take a ride in a fully electric Nissan Leaf, see lots of cool new cars (we spent most of our time looking at the mini-vans), and were bummed when they told us that the kids were too short to ride up in the Ford Cloud Experience. Jacy's favorite part was the Kia interactive dancing with the Soul Hamsters. The boys didn't get as into it. I just loved that she really dances like nobody is watching, even though there were hundreds of people all over the place.

Skiing

Dax and I ran out to Utah for a couple of days, and Dax hit the slopes for his first time. He did pretty well the second half of our half day after I figured out that his left boot wasn't on quite right and was probably putting a lot of pressure on his shin, oops.
